I joined Audible when I could not find the audiobook that my wife suggested to me. I took a 30 days trial offer and it turned out alright. Unfortunately, the book that I was looking for was boring so I exchange it for one I liked better (That was easy).
I was bothering the live chat customer service because I found out that I could not search for specific phrases in specific categories (ex. Podcasts only) they were polite and responded in a friendly manner.
By the end of the free trial, I received an email with notification for the end of my trial. I decided to continue my subscription. In my opinion, it is worth it even if not every single thing on Audible is perfect.

Took 30 day free trial but decided not to take offer. But Audible started taking a monthly membership out of my account. Unable to cancel. Big problem was that Audible kept telling me I was not a member. After trying for ages decided to call Amazon as this is part of their company. They answered right away and told me I was a member but only in the USA not Canada. So I had somehow got a free trial from the USA with an Audible app from Canada on my tablet. Amazon passed me on to Audible USA that cancelled my subscription and gave me a full refund.
Problem solved.

Ive been with Audible for 5 years. In the 5 years there's been some mishaps and some victories! But through it all ive had a VERY positive experience with Audible. There is always new books to find and THE DEAL OF THE DAY IS ALWAYS A GREAT DEAL. Go get your free trial and stick with it! You won't regret it trust me and hint upgrade to the highest package your experience will be amazing and worth the money and time! I'm staying with Audible it's my lifeline. I have Insomnia and if I didnt have audible to listen to at night to put me sleep I'd never sleep. Audible is a life saver a lifeline a Wonderful service. And the customer service is WONDERFUL also wow a 2fer lol

I strongly disagree with a one point whatever rating on audible I give it 5 solid stars! Education wise I'd say it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm and over the road truck driver and for the past 6 years I have been learning everyday all day at least when I'm on the road. It's worth every penny and the compounded interest on that investment is priceless! I will say I buy it on annual membership and I renew it annually as well so I don't know about the month to month billing issues that have been mentioned. If you don't get help at audible... please get help somewhere.;-)

Audible is fantastic. I now have a portable library on my phone and has been worth every penny.

Audible rocks! Short of the public library, this is the best place to get audiobooks. Customer service is exemplary. If you don't like a book, as it happens to all of us occasionally, they gladly refund your credit. I would imagine after a certain point they'll start declining it, but I've never had a problem. The only beef I have with audible, is they lock the book down so you can't lend it to anyone. That's a negative. Other than that their customer service makes up for it.

I think Audible is quite expensive, and it's kind of hard to unsubscribe. Still the customer support was really great.

Audible was fantastic. I tried it and though I decided that it was not for me, as I really have no need for books, they refunded my money no problem. If I do choose to use a book service Audible will be with a doubt the one I choose

I signed up for a free trial, enjoyed the service and ended up signing up for the premium plus subscription. I used it for a small period of time and used to love falling asleep listening to a book right before bed. Then life got busy and I forgot about my subscription so I kept getting charged and kept forgetting to cancel it. I was super happy I got a full refund for the months I did not use the service and I felt like it was pretty easy and quick to get my subscription canceled. The support staff was also very friendly.

My Audible subscription began when they did before Amazon bought them. I have hundreds of books in my library and as long as Amazon is in business I will be able to "keep" those books. I usually have had satisfactory experiences with customer service and billing.
The reason I may give up on Audible is that there are more and more glitches getting the latest books from really top, proven authors. They seem to be moving toward lots of included short / fluff offerings that I am not interested in. These are "included" in your subscription and you do not get to keep them.
If you like constant variety from unproven sources, this could be for you. I want books in my library to be those I love and want to listen to again.
Unless they go back to a more mainstream, litrary approach, I will figure out a way to use my credits (which you do not get to keep but must use before you cancel even though you have paid for them) and not renew when my subscription.
A good service if it fits your taste, but worth understanding the rules before you sign up.

I've been a member well over a decade. The only issue I have is that I still cannot 'follow' or 'subscribe' to an author. I would like it to tell me when my favourite authors have new material I can purchase. That would seem like a slam dunk obvious sales methods for them. But instead, I still have to just search and search just in case every month. Otherwise, content fantastic, pricing ok, customer service – don't know never used it, cancelling – don't know never used it.

It is quite expensive but i got a annual plan with 12 credits which you can get any book with it and can exchange them for free in a 12 month window and also can keep 12 books even if you don't renew as they say but not sure.

I did a free trial for audible back in June, and then of course promptly forgot all about it. I was charged once a month for 3 months. I did not notice the charges right away because they went through amazon and used my credit card that I had linked to my prime account. Once I noticed these fees, I called audible about it, they explained why I was being charged, and helped me to cancel my account. At the end of the call as a shot in the dark i asked "it wouldn't be possible for me to get that money back would it? Since i never even logged in?" and the representative i was talking to was basically like "Yea, no problem." After a brief hold, i was told money would go back to my account and they sent me a confirmation email. I was blown away, seeing as I had very low expectations and was expecting that money to be gone for good(considering it was my fault to not cancel.) Very pleased with my personal experience.
